Red Deer of Ireland

This monument of two stags represent the wild deer of Ireland. The Red Deer (Cervus Elaphus) in the Killarney area are the last of the native Red Deer in the wild. Their lineage is traced back over 5000 years. A protected species under the Wild Life Act.
