TributeLegacy

Terms of Service

Last updated: 21 June 2026

These terms govern your use of TributeLegacy. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. TributeLegacy is operated from the United Kingdom and English law applies.

1. Who can use TributeLegacy

You must be at least 13 years old. By signing up you confirm the information you provide is true, and that you have the family's permission when you create a legacy page for someone who has died.

2. Your account

You are responsible for your account, your password and everything posted from it. Tell us immediately if you suspect someone else is using your account.

3. Content you post

You keep the rights to the photos, words and other content you post. By posting you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, display and share that content as needed to run the service (including showing it on public legacy pages where the custodian has chosen that setting).

You promise that you have the right to post what you post, and that it does not infringe anyone's rights.

4. Community standards

Please do not use TributeLegacy to:

  • Post anything unlawful, harassing, hateful, defamatory or that intrudes on someone's grief.
  • Impersonate another person or create a legacy page without permission from the family.
  • Upload sexual content, graphic violence, or content that exploits children.
  • Spam, scrape, send unsolicited messages, or interfere with the service.
  • Use the service for paid advertising outside of the features we provide.

We may remove content that breaks these rules, and suspend or close accounts that repeatedly do so.

5. Tribute pages and custodians

A legacy page is looked after by one or more custodians. Custodians decide whether a page is public or private, can invite co-custodians, can moderate tributes, and can close the page. We may also transfer custodianship if the original custodian is unreachable and a family member presents reasonable evidence of their relationship.

6. Reporting and takedown

If you believe content infringes your rights, or breaks these terms, email support@tributelegacy.com with the page URL and a short description. We will review and respond as quickly as we reasonably can.

7. Service availability

TributeLegacy is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it available and to back content up, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. To the maximum extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

8. Closing your account

You can close your account at any time from Settings. When you do, your personal account data is removed. Legacy pages you created may be preserved (the point of a lasting legacy) but custodianship will be transferred or the page will be locked from new content, depending on the family's wishes.

9. Changes

We may change these terms from time to time. We will post any material change here and update the "last updated" date.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
