This bridge was presented by George Whitbread Under-manager of Ayton Mines, as a memorial to Private Lawrence Johnson Private Ernest Pearson Private Robert Theobald Private Arthur Wilks Private Charles Wildman Who gave their lives in the war for truth and justice 1914-1919. It was erected by their fellow workmen June 1919.
