HMS Aggressive. This plaque commemorates the men and women of the Royal Navy and Allied Navies who served from 1941 to 1945 in Coastal Forces in HMS Forward II, later HMS Aggressive, in Newhaven Harbour, seen from this position. From there Motor Torpedo Boats, Motor Gunboats, and Motor Launches carried out vital operations against enemy naval forces and protected British shipping in the channel. Their skill and courage made an invaluable contribution to the success of the war at sea and many gave their lives. Unveiled by Rear Admiral Michael Stacey CB on 28th November 2009. We will remember them.
