Codwyd y ffowntan I ddathlu cwblhau Cynllun cyflenwad dwr Newydd ar gyfer Caernarfon. Agorwyd hi'n swyddogol gan eu Hughelderau Brenhinol, tywysog a Thywysoges Cymru, 25 Ebrill, 1868. Ag aer y goron yn perfformio'r seremoni o agor y tapiau. This fountain was erected to celebrate the completion of a new water supply scheme for Caernarfon. It was officially opened by their Royal Highnesses The Prince and Princess of Wales 25 April 1868, the Heir to the Throne performing the ceremony of turning on the taps
