Photograph at the Ernest Willows black plaque

Ernest Thompson Willows is remembered as a pioneering Welsh figure in the early days of aviation. He distinguished himself as both an aviator and an airship builder during a formative period for flight. His significant achievement was becoming the very first individual in the United Kingdom to receive official recognition for piloting an airship, being awarded Airship Pilots Certificate No. 1 by the Royal Aero Club.
