Nestled in Pembrokeshire, Wales, stands the village of Abercastle, known in Welsh as Abercastell. Its heart is a working harbour, a vital hub maintained by the Abercastle Boat Owners Association. This harbour holds a unique place in maritime history, having served as the disembarkation point for a pioneering transatlantic journey. In 1876, it welcomed Alfred "Centennial" Johnson, who had sailed solo across the Atlantic Ocean, completing the first single-handed, west-to-east voyage of its kind, which began in Gloucester, Massachusetts.
