These homes for widows were erected by Arthur Anderson Esq. A native of Lerwick, Chairman of the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company. Member of Parliament for Orkney & Shetland 1847-1852. In memory of his wife. "I was a stranger and ye took me in"
