Snow Patrol

Formed in 1994, Snow Patrol emerged from the Scottish city of Dundee, though its members hail from Northern Ireland. The group began as Shrug, with original members including Gary Lightbody, who remains the sole original artist in the current lineup. After evolving through different names and early recordings, the band adopted the name Snow Patrol in 1997.

Their breakthrough came with the 2003 album aimed at Polydor Records after early releases with an independent label achieved little success. This major-label debut, Final Straw, catapulted them to national recognition, notably through the hit song "Run". Their subsequent album, Eyes Open, and its famous track "Chasing Cars", cemented their international renown, with the album becoming the UK's top-selling record of its release year.
