St. Thomas Chapel. Chapel of St Thomas the Martyr (Archibishop Thomas Becket, died 1170) stood on Old Tyne Bridge near this spot, until 1830, when it was demolished for road widening and replaced by St. Thomas' Church in Barras Bridge.
