Kissena Park, covering 235 acres in the Flushing neighbourhood of Queens, New York City, offers a space for recreation and remembrance. The park is bordered by Kissena Boulevard to the west and Fresh Meadow Lane to the east, with several avenues defining its northern and southern edges. Within its grounds, visitors will find a lake, playgrounds, sports fields, and importantly, two war memorials.

Parts of the park's land were once the site of a tree nursery established in the late 19th century. The lake, originally on this property, lent its name to the park, drawing from a Chippewa word meaning 'cold place' or 'cool water'. The velodrome, the city's sole remaining one, was added in 1962, complementing the park's other features which have seen periodic restoration over the years.
