Catherine Da Costa

Catherine Da Costa 1678-1756 English Jewish miniature and portrait painter, born in Somerset House, was named after Catherine of Braganza, and was known as a 'blue stocking'. She was taught by the famous drawing master Bernard Lens, tutor to the Royal Family.
