"The Miners Grip" "On the 23rd of December 2011, 91 year old former Bedworth coal miner, Don Spark, pressed his hands into a clay model of a pick axe handle. His imprint, replicates the grip that he would have held on his own pick axe as he hacked coal from its seams. This sculpture is of the miners' grip and commemorates the efforts of all of Bedworth's miners. Inspiration for this sculpture was taken from designs by the students of the Nicholas Chamberlaine Technology College and is carved in Kilkenny Limestone by sculptor Craeme Mitcheson"
