13. Hobbe Cottage Built in 1585 and originally called Hob Cottage. Reputedly, Hob meant "Devil", so the spelling was changed. The Doomsday book mentions a cottage here. Once the home of the village wheelwright, coffin maker and undertaker who worked at Blacksmith's Corner. Private property - view from road only.
