Parish Burial Ground, Peterborough

Photograph at the Parish Burial Ground, Peterborough white plaque

Parish Burial Ground. This was the site for Peterborough's Cemetery between 1805 and 1858. Before 1805 the people of Peterborough were buried in the lay cemetery behind the Cathedral but this land became overcrowded and the new site here was purchase. Within 50 years this too was full and a new site was acquired adjoining Eastfield Road.
