Old Burial Ground, Wheatley

The Old Burial Ground A mediaeval chapel of ease stood here until 1795 when a new church was endowed by the Sims family of Denton. It remained a place of worship until 1857 when the present Parish Churh of St. Mary the Virgin was built. It is the burial place of many generations of Wheatley people.
