Plaque to recognise - On this site stood the Guildhall for nearly 400 years until pulled down in 1864. It was formerly the house of John Hawley (1340-1408) Fourteen times mayor, and builder of Dartmouth's first castle. He was buried under the Chancel in St. Saviour's Church where his brass lies
