Brewhouse and Maltings Westminster Abbey granted James Wilkins land on which to build the Parrott (later Hope) brewery in 1781. This timber-framed, brick-fronted cottage is part of the brewery that spread up the hill. An extensive tunnel stretches back into the chalk hillside. Brewing ceased in 1904. Grade II listed
