Naomi Jacob, writer and actor Naomi Jacob was born here on 1 July 1884. She combined a film career with writing more than 70 successful novels. Monocle-wearing and with cropped hair, she entertained troops in World War 2 with her humorous sketches. She died at her home at Sirmione in Italy on 27 August 1964.
