The Riding School of the Rutland Fencible Cavalry. The Riding School was built in 1794-1795 by Gerald Noel Edwards MP for Rutland, who lived over the road at Catmose. The Rutland Fencible Cavalry was a home defence force formed at the time of the French Revolutionary Wars. During World War I the building housed the state carriages of the King of Belgium
