East Cliff Cottage Hotel, built 1895, was home to British actor James Stewart better known as the film and theatre star Stewart Granger 1913-1993. Notable for the films Scaramouche and Beau Brummell. His mother Mrs. Lablanche Stewart owned this property until 1979.
