Dolman's Lane

Dolman's Lane In medieval times this alleyway was probably home to an official called the Doleman who gave out (or "doled") charity at a nobleman's funeral to anyone who said a prayer for the dead person. By the mid 19th Century Dolman's Lane housed countless families, many of Irish origin, who had come to Warrington in search of work.
