New Market Building 1855/6 It replaced the short lived Bridgnorth Theatre, built by the Corporation 1824 (which had replaced the Cockpit Theatre behind the Crown Hotel). The stall-holders refused to move in despite strong arm tactics. 10 stall-holders took the Corporation to court and eventually won the right to stay on the High Street as they had done since 1101.
