Newton-le-Willows Station. The adjacent memorial is a replica of one located nearby at the site of the tragic accident which befell the Right Hon William Huskisson, MP for Liverpool, at the opening of the Liverpool & Manchester Railway on 15th September 1830. The current station building was constructed in 1848 by the London & North Western railway to replace the original station.
