Mote Hall, Basingstoke. Opposite this building stood the Old Mote Hall of Basingstoke. This building believed to have been built in the 13th Century, was destroyed by fire in 1656 and was demolished in 1832 when the new Town Hall was built. This plaque was placed here by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council and Lloyds Bank Plc in November 1991 to mark 350 years of the Mayoralty of Basingstoke.
