Arthur Herbert Procter V.C. 1890-1973 Born in Bootle. Awarded the Victoria Cross for bravery in the first World War. Later ordained priest and was vicar of St. Stephen's Church, Flowery Field from 1933-1944. and rector of St. Mary's Church, Droylsden from 1946-1951.
