This plaque was unveiled on 27th May 1981 by the Right Honourable Tom Morgan Lord Provost of the City of Edinburgh to mark the opening by the Scottish Special Housing Association of the Bowling Green Street Housing Redevelopment which stands on the site occupied by the Mount Falcon Battery in the siege of the French held port of Leith - in 1560
