This monument stands as part of a collection from the Lodi dynasty's era, which also encompasses a Friday mosque and what is identified as a guest house, dating back to approximately 1490 CE.

It is noted for possibly being the first building in Delhi to feature a complete dome. While its precise original role remains a subject of discussion among historians, theories suggest it might have served as a tomb, though no burial marker has been found, or perhaps as an entrance feature.
