This statue celebrates the centenary of Frank Whittle's birth in Coventry and shows him watching the first test flight of a jet-propelled Gloster-Whittle E28/39 on 15 May 1941 at RAF Cranwell. Sculpture by Faith Winter unveiled on 1 June 2007
