ANZAC Day

Dawn services across Australia and Aotearoa. Lest we forget.

Observing ANZAC Day

ANZAC Day marks the 1915 Gallipoli landing. Dawn services are held at war memorials in every state and territory of Australia and across Aotearoa New Zealand, from the Auckland Domain to the Wellington Cenotaph and small rural memorials. The Last Post is sounded, a minute's silence is observed, and red poppies are laid.

Three ways to take part

  1. Attend a dawn service at your nearest RSL or RSA memorial.
  2. Light a candle on the TributeLegacy page of someone who served.
  3. Pause for the minute's silence and the Last Post.
